Introduction:
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi
inaugurated ‘Digital India’ with the launch
of 'Digital India Week' campaign in the
national capital, with a view to sensitize
people of our country through the Digital
India Programme. Digital India is an
Umbrella Programme covering many
departments. It weaves together a large
number of ideas and thoughts into a single,
comprehensive vision so that each of them is
seen as part of a larger goal.
Being a proponent of technology and
digitization, SNDT WU is diligent about the
digital literacy and digital empowerment of
present and future students. In pursuance of
this, the University has created a road map
for the digital empowerment of its
stakeholders and has completed the
following:
- Connecting its three campuses viz. Churchgate, Juhu and Pune through a virtual tunnel.
- Creating WiFi connectivity on its
three campuses - in progress
- Intranet Portal using a platform -
‘Susmavad’ - for communication across
all the three campuses.
Several student centric applications are
being developed and deployed on all three
campuses.
The Contest:
SNDTWU is also organizing a
‘Video Clip Contest’ to provide the young
thinking minds of SNDTWU a prodigious
opportunity to portray importance of
digitalisation in various sectors through
video clips.
The competition intends to foster student’s
savoir and ingenuity and reward young
professionals whose contributions and
technological ideas will definitely have a
positive impact on society in the near
future.
As part of the Digital India Campaign,
SNDTWU is organizing a “Video Clip” contest
for present students and alumnae of
affiliated colleges (under the students
category and alumnae category)
Rules and Guidelines of the Video Clip Contest:
- Structure:
- The Competition is divided into two
categories (Student and Alumnae).
- The videos should be submitted or
are to be delivered to University within
the given timeline.
- Topics:
- Women in the Digital World
- 100 years of Women Empowerment @
SNDTWU
- My Dream SNDTWU
- Sustainable Future – Digital
India
- Infrastructure as a utility to
every citizen
- Governance and Services on
Demand
- Digital empowerment of citizens
- Usage of web tools for digital
India
- E-governance , E-agriculture,
E-waste management, E-farmer,
E-workers, E-tutor
- Technology in Healthcare
- Technology for Financial
Inclusion
- Digitalisation in Banking and
Insurance
- Digital India: Travel and
Tourism
- Procedures for the participation in the Video Clip Contest:
- The contest will be announced at
University department /institutes /
affiliated colleges. Five
best
entries (Students and Alumnae
categories separately) from Juhu,
Churchgate and Pune
Campus and five
best entries from Affiliated
Colleges will be selected for the
final round to be
conducted on 14th
August 2015 at Juhu Campus
- All the students should be
encouraged to participate in the
competition.
- Interested participants shall
register with the respective
college/department coordinator.
- Colleges and Departments will
conduct elimination round and send
two winning video clips
from both
the categories (Student and Alumnae)
to the University for
Intercollegiate Competition on
video@di.sndt.ac.in . Colleges must
register their winner participants

- Only original video clips will
be considered for the competition.
Any form of plagiarism will
result
in disqualification.
- Certificate/undertaking: The
students have to sign an undertaking
that the Audio Video
content,
opinion/views demonstrated in Video
Clip is original and it is not
copied from any source. Student will
be personally liable for any
copyright related issues. Scanned
copy of the undertaking duly signed
and endorsed by the Principal shall
be sent along with the video clip.
- College authority shall also
send rest all the video clips (on
DVD) via post/courier/Hand
delivery
along with the participants’ details
and undertaking on the following

- Format Requirement:
- Students can use their mobile
cameras or any digital camera to
shoot video and licensed
applications to edit sound and
video.
- Students may work individually
or in teams of 2 members.
- The video clip must not exceed
two minutes duration.
- The video clips must be of .mp4
format and the size shall not exceed
25 MB.
- Video Clips can be made in
English, Hindi or Marathi language
or combination of these
languages.
Students may provide subtitles in
English wherever necessary.
- Criteria For Assessment:
- Creativity: 20%
- Content: 30%
- Relevance to the theme: 20%
- Audio Video Quality: 20%
- Overall Impact: 10%

The students winning the awards during the
celebrations of Digital India
Campaign will be felicitated on
Independence Day at the hands of
the Chief Guest.
